Celebrate nature with the local community with activities from veggie planting to making plant art! On this joyful yet relaxed day, you and your kids will discover the ancient wisdom of nature with four hands-on activities, all in the stunning natural surroundings of Butser Ancient Farm.

Aimed at kids aged 8-12, this full-day workshop is completely free for East Hampshire residents. Check if you’re in East Hampshire by following the link above and entering your postcode!

Get hands on with four hands-on nature-based activities: planting in our historic gardens, making cordage (rope) from plant fibres, using plants to decorate cloth, and exploring the medicinal properties of healing plants.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

  • Full-day workshop, 9:30am till 3pm with breaks

  • Get out in nature with our local community

  • Includes free entry to Butser Ancient Farm, and three months’ access to our educational videos on Butser Plus.

As a community event, this day is particularly aimed to support those who may not otherwise have been able to visit Butser Ancient Farm, children must be accompanied by an adult. The farm has accessible facilities, please let us know if you have any special access requirements.

As a family or parent/carer and child you’ll have the chance to explore our beautiful open air site, join in with various plant based craft activities and get your hands dirty planting in our heritage gardens.

Please bring a picnic and suitable clothes and footwear that you don’t mind getting muddy!

Unfortunately we are not able to provide transport but we have a large free car park on site. It is also possible to catch the Number 37 bus from Petersfield to Clanfield, and come off at the Hampshire Hog in Clanfield. We are a 10 minute walk down the hill from the Hampshire Hog. Please be aware that parts of this walk are on the road with no pavement. Please remember to check bus and train times before planning your journey!
