Don’t just study history — experience it! Discover the past for yourself and get hands on with a special day of fun and educational activities bringing history to life.

Led by a dedicated member of our education team, you’ll be immersed in history as you get involved in four hands-on activities, explore our ancient buildings, and discover everyday life in the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, and Saxon periods.

Activities include digging in our archaeology pits, carving ancient designs into chalk, making ancient pottery, and designing a Roman mosaic!

Perfect for curious kids interested in history, home-ed families, and folks who want a unique time-travelling experience, this is an incredible way to bring to life a period in history that’s hard for kids to imagine — and can be hard to teach, too!

Please note that all under-18s must be accompanied by an adult (event ticket required). The event will run with teaching groups of up to 35 (includes adults).
