Prepare for the festive season by learning to craft spoons, and create a wonderful practical gift. Discover the timeless craft of shaping wooden utensils in this hands-on workshop. Led by artist and heritage craftsperson Mandie Molyneux, engage with creativity and craftsmanship to learn the intricate techniques of carving, shaping, and refining wooden spoons. A great way to relax before the busy festive season begins.

About the workshop

  • One-day workshop, 10am - 3pm with a break for lunch

  • Learn to work with traditional tools and natural green wood to carve, shape, and refine your own wooden spoon

Mandie Molyneux has almost thirty years workshop experience, training other artists in workshop facilitation, lecturing and teaching in universities, along with curating and hanging exhibitions in mainstream galleries. Mandie has a passion for creating with foraged natural materials, and continues to enjoy learning and practising new skills that she relishes in sharing.

Included in your ticket

Entrance to the farm, a day’s tuition and expertise, and all the tools and materials necessary to create a functional and beautiful spoon from wood.

Please wear sensible clothing and footwear for this workshop. Lunch is not included, although sandwiches (subject to availability), hot and cold drinks, and snacks are sold in our gift shop. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic if you prefer!

This workshop is intended for adults, but suitable for ages 16+. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults do not need workshop tickets themselves but are required to pay the site entrance fee.
